Custom Wedding Invitations
February 02, 2016

The first impression of your big day will not happen when guests first arrive to begin celebrating the festivities but rather when the official invitation to your celebration is received in the mail and opened.  Or, if you’re really on top of things, your save-the-date announcement might be that first impression.  Regardless, your wedding invitations or save-the-date cards are an opportunity to set the tone of your big day and give guests a glimpse of the style and theme of what is to come.

LeRae Rengel, invitation specialist at Rengel Printing Company, agrees and shares a few of the first steps of the custom invitation process, “You can create invitations that are uniquely yours – the perfect ‘first impression.’  Your wedding invitations are your guest’s first glimpse of the tone of your whole wedding.  They create the overall vibe and beauty to specific color combinations and the overall level of formality. The first steps are to decide on the vision, the colors that you want integrated into the invite and the quantities needed.  You may choose to create a traditional wedding invite or a formal invite based on the wedding motif that you envision.”

There are many details to consider when designing and planning for the invitation process.  How do I word my wedding invitations to follow proper etiquette?  What should my response cards say so that I receive the meal responses I am looking for?  What paper choices work best for my vision?  What ink choices?  When should I mail my wedding invitations?  All of these questions and more can be answered by working with a professional printer who can offer their experience and guidance.

Rengel Printing Company is a professional member of the Central Minnesota Wedding Association.  In a recent interview, LeRae Rengel offers additional information on the company and trends she’s currently seeing:

What makes you unique or stand out from your competition?

All of our wedding invite packages are custom.  We start with a blank sheet of paper and design each and every invite to truly fit the couple’s wishes.

What trends are you currently seeing for wedding invitations?

Some of the hot trends are still the burlap and lace look with a natural rustic paper included in a piece of the package.  There are a lot of brides that also like the stacked look of the invites that are completed with a bow, paper band, burlap, lace or a twine knot.

What trends are you currently seeing for save-the-dates?

Most save the dates include a photo and are most often printed as cards or magnets that mail out in an envelope.

What trends are you currently seeing for wedding programs?

A lot of brides are liking the tall skinny back-to-back programs or the stacked multiple page ones.
